CSI Completes DAS Installation at Caterpillar after Tornado

Manchester, NH (March 13, 2008, 2008) - CSI, a recognized leader in the design and implementation of in-building wireless solutions, today announced that it has completed the installation of an enhanced system for indoor wireless coverage at the Caterpillar, Inc. operations at their Water Valley, Mississippi location. Caterpillar, Inc. temporarily relocated its operations to Water Valley after its Oxford facility was heavily damaged by a tornado earlier in February.

The facility in the Oxford Industrial Park had nearly 300 employees and manufactured hydraulic hose couplings for most Caterpillar equipment. Caterpillar, Inc. employees rely on a growing number of wireless devices and applications to conduct business on a daily basis. AT&T Wireless hired CSI to install a distributed antenna system (DAS) in Caterpillar’s temporary facility in Water Valley to deliver uninterrupted reception for incoming and outgoing AT&T cellular phone calls.

Working on an accelerated timeline to help get Caterpillar back on track after the tornado, CSI designed and installed the system in under a week. CSI was notified of critical need for in-building wireless service on February 13th and had a system installed by February 16th.
