Software Quality Assurance Test Engineer II
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY
Primarily responsible for quality assurance testing of next generation embedded and application software for cellular networking equipment.
DUTIES
- Architect, design and develop automated software testing tools
- Develop test plans and test cases
- Participate in initial system design to assure that QA testing is considered throughout product lifecycle
- Analyze results of tests, debug as required and provide results and resolution to development team
- Participate in technical reviews to ensure product quality
- Practice good communication inside and outside the development team
- Estimate time and effort on projects and tasks
- Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- 5+ years of experience as a SW QA test engineer
- Strong knowledge of QA test methodologies and tools
- Strong organizational skills, tracking multiple test executions simultaneously
- Able to debug and analyze failures that occur during the testing
- Proficient in scripting languages: TCL, Perl, CGI and HTML or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience with C/C++ development in an embedded software environment
- Knowledge and experience with SNMP MIB implementation and design
- Knowledge and experience with Unix/Linux Operating System concepts and design
- Experience working with Wireless Telecommunication devices
- Good documentation and process discipline
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
EDUCATION
B.S. in computer science and 5+ years of experience as a SW QA test engineer
