CDMA Co-Pilot Beacon Transmitter
Improves E911/LBS Accuracy
The Co-Pilot Beacon is the first viable location based solution for simulcast CDMA Distributed Antenna Systems (DASs). It is designed to improve location accuracy of cell phones and wireless devices outdoors and within buildings. Among facilities that can benefit from this solution are college campuses, hospitals, malls, stadiums, warehouses or mid-sized to large office environments in which improved public safety or location based services (LBS) is a priority.
Strategically placed Co-Pilot Beacons enable mobile devices to quickly receive fixed position references that allow the network to determine the specific location of the handset or cell phone. This information can then be used to aid the GPS receiver in acquiring signals, or can be used to pinpoint an accurate fix.
