CDMA Co-Pilot Beacon Transmitter
Improves E911/LBS Accuracy
Of the more-than 296,000 E911 calls made in the United States every day, approximately 70 percent – or some 202,000 calls daily - are made using mobile devices, according to the FCC. That number is particularly significant given that an estimated 70 percent of all mobile calls are made indoors, yet approximately 70 percent of in-building space cannot send or receive the GPS data required to accurately locate E911 calls due to construction materials.
CSI’s Co-Pilot Beacon transmitter is the first optimal location based solution for CDMA carrier signals. By properly locating Co-Pilot Beacons within a DAS network, mobile devices quickly and reliably receive fixed location references that allow the network to determine the device’s specific location. By providing more points of reference, Co-Pilot Beacon transmitters can paint a much clearer picture of where a call originated from.
Product Highlights Include:
- Compatible with indoor and outdoor CDMA repeater/DAS solutions
- Improves location accuracy to within 50 meters
- Does not decrease wireless coverage
